Chicago engagement photos?

On October 1st I am shooting engagement photos for my cousin. I have some ideas in mind, but I want more. I really need some places that are rarely known and different. She wants photos that are not cliche (ex. bean and fountain). I found a great interest in the areas that are featured on Miller + Miller but I have no idea where to find those locations. Also any tips or tricks to help me out, i am only a student and in art school they don’t teach portraits.

So basically here is what I am asking…

Can anyone give me names for some of the locations?
Does anyone know of some great places to shoot in chicago?
Anyone have tips on engagement photos?
Anyone know good places to shoot beach scenes in October?
Is there anywhere I can shoot that has a grassy area with trees, possibly flowers?

You can do Navy Pier. If you can arrange it some photos while up in the ferris wheel could be amazing at night, with the city skyline behind you. Or at the very end of the pier with the lake behind you. Very pretty. I’ve seen couples take them long Michigan Ave and the River walk as well.

I can’t open the links which you offer .So i don’t know which style photos you want to choose .
Here I have some advise about the place in Chicago which you can choose to take the photos .
Magnificent Mile Bridge from the north to the East Chicago Avenue, Oak Street between 7 Street is known as the Chicago Magnificent Mile, Fifth Avenue in New York can match, there are neat, beautiful trees, magnificent high-rise buildings, elegant shops and pleasing window displays. Chicago Avenue Bridge, the bridge, there is a building known to chewing gum, building boats under the pier shall be.

John Hancock Center alias "Big John" is a 100 story building. It looks like a ladder, first to see some weird, but it is a structural mechanics on the new achievements. Photography business card help?

I’m in the process of designing a card for my photography business. Obviously I want to feature a photo I took on the card to give a first, small impression of the type of quality I’m capable of, but I’m having trouble deciding between doing a portrait or using a nature/still life/other type of photo. My business does almost exclusively portraits (senior portraits, engagements, etc.), but every time I’ve tried putting a portrait into the design, it comes off as looking a little awkward. Would it be better to just use some other type of photo?

i know you can print different images on the cards. This way, you can use all your cards as a porfolio.
It is like, pick a card any card. On the front is a picture that your client chooses; and on the back is your information.
It is an easy way to carry your porfolio around with you; for those moments when you can’t carry a large porfolio. it is a way to easily introducing your self and your services.

I unintentionally "resolved" this question earlier and I would like to hear more comments and suggestions.

I recently started a wedding/engagement photography business and website and I need to know what do you think about the quality of my images in comparison to today’s industry standard.

most of them are just okay. i liked the one of the guy jumping and the girl sitting down from the second couple. be more creative

What name should I use for my photography? ?

I’ve come up with a couple but I just can’t seem to find the perfect one. I want something elegant but modern. I’m most likely going to be doing engagement. I’m for sure not going to use my name and I’d prefer nothing un-original. Like ‘Creative Shots Image Studio’ and I for sure want to use ‘Photography’ at the end. Thanks!!! =]

like you, i’m not very good at thinking of names, But all I can suggest is don’t do anything cheesy like ‘Treasured moments photography’ or ‘capture the moment photography’. They sound amature and invoke the gag reflex!
