Photography schools for Kids?

Okay I am thirteen,& i LOVE photography.I am wanting too become a professional photographer when I am older,I wanna go to college for it,but I would like too start my process of becoming a better photographer,are there any schools for kids of the age of 13 in San Antonio,Texas ?

i do know that my school had an after school on photography. if they dont have one at your school there may be one at another school

its just like with any other art, or heck any other career choice, whether you take classes or not PRACTICE=)

i want to take photography quality pictures of my kids with my camera, in a park any suggestions?

should i do am /pm ? color of clothes? should my back be facing sun ect?

Best light would be with the sunlight coming in from the side, from a low angle, such as in the earlier morning, late afternoon.

Worst light may be either with the sun directly in their faces, making the kids squint and any good contrast glared out, or with the sun directly behind them. Unless you know how to force your camera to flash, any details of the face and body are lost in the shadows while the camera tries to deal with the sunlight directly in front of the lens.

However, even in the middle of the day with the simplest of digital cameras, you still have a chance to take some good shots. In my opinion, the best children’s photos are not posed at all. They will be random shots of the kids just being kids. If you camera has a good zoom feature, step back from your subjects and zoom in with the camera. The kids will be less aware of you and the lens and will act more naturally, with the smiles being real and not "pasted" on by mom or dad shouting at them to smile.

The great advantage of digital cameras is that you can afford to take hundreds of shots. It’s well worth it even if you only get a dozen or so great ones. Take out your camera’s manual and bone up on it’s features. Some settings may be more suitible for certain shots and other settings for different situations.

Unless you are doing portraits, then the color of their clothes is not very important. If you want the kids to look comfortable in the photos, let them wear what THEY think is comfortable.

But again, the real key is to experiment and take a LOT of photos. Don’t expect every one to be a masterpiece. Even the pros, as hard as they work to make each shot count, don’t expect a perfect shot every time they press the shutter release.

why are most, (not all) emo and scene kids into photography?

Because they think that all there is to photography is snapping a picture of them making an angst ridden face and then taking it to GIMP, throwing a few filters on it, and posting it on their myspace page so all of the other emo kids can look at it while they cut themselves.

I would say that’s like me building a simple wooden box and saying I’m "into carpentry".
