The history of photography is Beaumont Newhall! Throughout most of the 20th century he has seen a central figure in the movement to have photography recognized as an art form. It might also be said that he created the “history of photography” as a distinct and respected field of study. As a founder and father of the history of photography, photographer, curator, art historian, writer, scholar, teacher and administrator it seems as if there has been more than one Beaumont Newhall. Beginning in 1938 at the Museum of Modern Art, he created the first retrospective exhibition of the 100-year-old art of photography. This documentary highlights some of Beaumont’s experiences of being a lifelong friend, mentor and confident of many photographers now in the annals of history.

Can anyone help with ideas for photography for my art GCSE?

ive been given my art gcse paper and i want to do about viewpoints as i would like to include photography. ive tried searchin different viewpoints and things that may help develop my ideas but i cant seem to be finding anything. can i anyone give me some help or advice please?

all i can say try and look at things at another angle, dont take a picture from eye level.
brainstorm on a piece of paper.
try and see things ‘differently’

What can i do for my art photography final piece?

The project is titled "mixed up me" and it is self portrate. And i have to have an A or A* grade final piece in next week, and i haven’t done anything.
Thought about doing a photomontage but i cant deside how to take the photo also thought about plaster casting my face and then sticking photos to it.
Any ideas?

i like the plastercast of your face idea. Maybe take different pictures, enlarge them to actual size, then cut them all up and piece different pictures together and form your face. i kind of want to do this now. aha. anyway, good luck =]

Does anyone know of any art/photography exhibitions (in London) to go to during the Easter hols?
