Nature places to go around Gloucestershire for photography?

I live in Cheltenham and have my art exam is based around the word "reflect" so i need to take some photography.

I just have no idea where to go… the ideal place would have a lot of trees and a lake etc (preferably not a river)
I think the forest of dean might be ok but at the moment i don’t know about the mud left from the snow.

reflect society…go to the back of pubs, churches, flats and businesses and photograph the facades and rubbish bins…and if your prof is a literalist place a hand mirror in each setting.

why is a sunset/rise considered cliche?

All photography markets are over saturated. I think the only people who still have business are wedding, glamour, the portrait guys and pornographers, oh, how could I forget the stock photography guys. But even in those fields it’s pretty crowded and although there is work, you have to chase jobs, work well, work fast and work cheap. Another problem with photography in general is that many people don’t understand photography as an art(or as anything serious for that matter). The fact that everyone owns a camera makes people believe that everyone is a photographer. You see it often here with people saying why do pros use this or that? I don’t and my pictures look pretty professional, when you follow the link they provide, you tend to see rather lousy holiday photos, or out of fcus things, or pictures that are so blurry you can hardly tell what it is, or poorly done selective colour that is supposed to be "professional". The fact that so many people in the world now have that attitude means that many photographers are no competing for quite a few jobs. Sunsets are cliche because there are plenty of great sunsets. I personally like sunsets, I have many myself and ecah is different for me, but let’s face it, you can’t have a gallery full of sunsets because after 2 or 3 they all start to merge in to one. I’m working on a series of sky shots. It includes sunsets and sunrises and all sorts in between. It’s just for intertainment but maybe in 30 or 40 years it will be worth something.

Al’s American Alligator Approach
