I recently started a wedding/engagement photography business and website and I need to know what do you think about the quality of my images in comparison to today’s industry standard.
here is my website, www.pinholeidiots.com. please tell me your honest opinion. all constructive criticisms are welcome.
(any established photographers interested in taking me under their wing.)
You can use the same criteria that other photographers use.
1) is the image nearly as perfect technically as possible?
a) in focus, b) no blur caused by subject or camera movement during the exposure, c) perfectly exposed, 4) excellent composition (no dead zones around the subject), 5) good lens selection, 6) have you used the best lighting for the subject? and 7) correct white balance.
2) subjective criticism
a) does the image demand the viewers attention?, b) is the subject obvious or is it lost in clutter?, c) did you use good compositional tools when framing the shot?, d) is the photo pleasing to the viewers eye?
Since composition is so subjective, you may find it helpful to make a list of your own critical points you want to hit when taking your shots, ones that will help you produce amazing shots on a routine basis and on demand

From your website, it is obvious that you are not afraid to work outside the box and use many different shooting angles to capture your subjects.
Ventura has many amazing locations for shooting just about any product, whether they are people in need of an amazing portrait or a classic car. Just ask any of the Brooks students who are wondering around town at any given time. Some of them may be a good resource for finding unique locations
You can always shoot in Ojai, the old Saticoy Country Club or in many of the city and county parks or out on Petrero Road between the old Camarillo hospital and Hidden Valley.
There are some excellent places near Lake Sherwood too.
Really if you just take a road trip around your area, you will find some amazing locations.
You already have the skills. Finding locations that can be your signature wedding and portrait spots, may make the difference.
