Hi, I am a amateur photographer. A couple months ago I bought a Nikon D3000. The camera came with a 18/55 mm lens. I have been asked to do portrait photography for : senior pictures, family photos, single head shots and such. And i was wondering what would be the best lens for portrait photography? And macro too. Price is in mind but i do want to hear the cheaper lens’s and maybe the ones that I would want to splurge more on. Thank you so much!!! Oh and i usually shoot outside with natural lighting from the sun!
THank you so much!

The Micro-Nikkor AF-S 60mm f/2.8 would probably be a good choice. It’s a good focal length for portraits, with wider aperture and a little better image quality than using the 55mm end of your kit lens (although the 18-55mm is pretty good at 55mm). It is a macro lens, so it accomplishes both things on the top of your list. It will autofocus with your D3000.
It does not have VR, and for best results you should use a tripod.
