The Pentax K-x was selected as "Best DSLR – Entry Level of 2010" by the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA). http://www.tipa.com/english/XX_tipa_awards_2010.php

The Pentax K-x has:

1) Live View.
2) HD Video.
3) Double/multiple exposure capability.
4) A focusing motor in the camera body.
5) Image Stabilization in the camera body.

The Pentax K-x with 18-55mm lens is $549.95 at B&H. http://www.bhphotovideo.com

The closest competitor to the K-x is the Nikon D5000 and with an 18-55mm lens its $749.95 at B&H. Although the D5000 has Live View and HD Video, it has NONE of the other features of the
K-x.

In my world paying $200.00 MORE for LESS simply does not make sense. That’s $200.00 that can be used for a Haze/UV filter and a circular polarizer and a lens cloth and a couple of extra memory cards.

    1. What is your budget?

    2. What typical type of landscapes do you like to shoot? Deserts, mountains, oceans, ect??
