in my photography class we have an assigment called "light line shape and shadow" where the pictures have to be focused on those things. any good sugestions on what to take pictures of for good pictures?

Look for patterns created by late afternoon or early morning sun shining through objects like fences, rails, latticework, etc. Anything that forms a repeating shape is a good subject. Whether the photo will be "good" or not depends on your exposure and composition skill.

If you splash a patterned light (ie. a lattice-work type of light/shadow mix) onto an egg or very plain orb of some sort, you can experiment with angles, perspectives and show how light can transform objects and manifest itself into a wide variety of lines, shapes, shadows and…don’t forget…form.

    Good luck!
