i agree dom. the …
i agree dom. the nikon 70-200mm f2.8 VRII is pretty expensive. its about. $2.300 in the US. but you have to look in to wi its so expensive. the old nikon 70-200mm had
5 ED Glass (Elements) where the 70-200 VRII has 7 ED Glass (Elements) and the VRII also has (Nano Crystal Coating) and of corse the new VRII. but still its a vary
expensive lens. so i think i will be sticking to buying the old 70-200mm.
keep up the good shooting.
Love the hasselblad …
Love the hasselblad!

the f4 is not …
the f4 is not weather sealed. thats a bummer.
That could have …
That could have been why! BBC news did a bit on the event. Looked fantastic and a great opportunity for news syndication of photos, as it was actually on snow this year for a change! (according to the BBC)
Looked bloody cold too..
I have the canon 70 …
I have the canon 70-200mm f/4L lens you’re referring to. It’s not weather sealed, but it’s built like a tank. Yeah. Canons mid priced telephoto lenses are pretty good. But I think Nikons wide angles are better than Canons. Like it’s been said before, each company has it’s pros and cons. You, of all people know that of corse. I’m sure.
Btw, i’m liking the vlog idea. Learning a lot. Thanks for doing it.
The S2 IS actually …
The S2 IS actually has 5.1 mega-pixels and i have it too! I just use it for videos as well.
As a Canon man …
As a Canon man myself, I do enjoy the different lens options that are available to us. That’s the main reason I chose the Canon route in the first place. However, I will say that your CLS system is LIGHT YEARS (pun?) ahead of anything Canon can come up with..very jealous of that. Everything is a trade-off I guess. Anyway, I’m a new subscriber and I love all of your videos. In the short time I’ve watched, they’ve made me a better photographer. Keep up the good work!!!

Hey dom

just got a 50mm 1.8 …
just got a 50mm 1.8 from china new for £80. i like your 1.4, cant afford it at todays prices. i’ve got some sport stuff coming up and was looking at 70-200 2.8.. WOW expensiveimundo! HOWEVER you look at the third party lenses and they’ve great reviews in dpreview… (no vr type thing) but its selling on ebay, even now, for £300 – 400 If you’re used to holding a camera steady or taking pictures outside in the sun… anything like that VR, even VR II really not necessary, correct me if i’m wrong
The size of the …
The size of the actual sensor was much smaller on the bridge camera. That’s probably the most important thing.
YAY for Vlogs.
I …
YAY for Vlogs.
I have a Sony H-50 with 15x Zoom.
The biggest difference in my opinion is the sensor size, which is 3 times bigger than a usual point and shoot.
A point and shoot has around 3.5x crop factor where as your d300 has 1.5, so you get the point.
Hassleblad is super expensive, 60 Megapixel version is coming soon.
telephoto lenses have less geometric distortion.
Canon has better Full Frame lenses in my opinion.
I m also shocked by the new prices too
Nice Video
5 stars

@dombower
Thehehe not really, some of the equipment is cool, the teachers suck badly. In fact, I learn more watching your video’s than they (attempted) to teach me in like 3 months. And this seriously is no flattery! Only the harsh truth!
Keep up the great work! I certainly take the time to watch it all!
when i got up i …
when i got up i didnt see any tv cameras, the obviously didnt realise i was coming up. hahaha.
hasselblad has …
hasselblad has bigger pixels, so even better picture quality and sharpness. And because of the medium format the pictures have even shallower depth of field.
Great Vlog Dom. A …
Great Vlog Dom. A mate of mine has just bought a 30megapixel Hasselblad.. Lucky boy.. Images from it are stunning, so much rich sharp detail…
I thought about you when the dog event was on the news down here. Didn’t see you on TV though…
Best wishes.
Sounds-and-images.
I’m right with you …
I’m right with you on the prices, I knew when I started that photography was going to be expensive but the way the price has shot up is a joke. Even third party stuff has crept up over the last 6 months.
