Tilt-shift miniature faking is a process in which a photograph of a life-size location or object is manipulated so that it looks like a photograph of a miniature scale model. By distorting the focus of the photo, the artist simulates the shallow depth of field normally encountered with macro lenses making the scene seem much smaller than it actually is. Many miniature faked photographs are taken from a high angle to further simulate the effect of looking down on a miniature. Objects oriented horizontally, such as the train in the first example, make better subjects for tilt-shift miniature faking than vertically oriented objects. Thes videos were created by Keith Loutit. think that it is …
think that it is Marco, which actually one could get the same effect by taking a shot with a camera with an enormous f/stop and amazing zoom. I would imagine one would have to be in an airplane more likely. What do you think?

  24. concoursboy says:

    But, isn’t it …
But, isn’t it really depth and blur being that the blur that one normally thinks of is just a ratio of f/stop length of lens focal range and where the light happens to land on the focal plane. They are augmenting where the light lands on the focal plan(Sensor) by bending where it will land on the focal plane. With that in mind, wouldn’t you agree that what is being done is real? It looks like a macro shot simply because one gain experience by looking at photos with short DOF and will automatical

  25. Nerte85 says:

    What I meant was …
What I meant was that you take a normal videocamera shots. Then you add FAKE depth/blur so it looks like macro shot.
