Beautiful photography. Lucky for the budding KAP enthusiast today that they don’t have to be such tinkerers to get started. Most everything you need can be easily purchased pre-made with electronics installed.

I’ve seen your camera and your kite. Good work!
Like a kid I used to fly kites myself in Greece but teen months ago i’ve created a greek kite. And i’ve put a video camera on it and i sent it 600 m high to make a good clip.
